USMC Fitness Regimen

I am using the USMC (Marine Corps) Fitness Test. It involves a 3 mile run, pushups, situps, and flexed chin ups on a bar.

For the males:

Maximum time for the 3 mile run is 28:00 minutes even.

Minimum Number of Chin ups is 3.

Minimum number of situps is 50.

For females,

Maximum time for 3 mile run is 31:00 minutes even.

Flexed Arm Hang Time (look it up) is 15 seconds.

Minimum Number Of Situps is 50.

I would recommend this system to everyone who wants to really be in shape...It works very well!

Fitness Regimen - Day Four

Today was tough. I will admit, I was feeling like a 25 year old dog. I didn't want to run today.

However, in spite of being six feet from the edge today, I ran a charted 3 miles in 25:30, shaving off another 90 seconds.

Fitness Regimen - Day Three

I ran the track today. I shaved 4 minutes off my total time, arriving at track end at 35:56. I keep getting stronger and stronger as the days move on. I can run three miles in 27 minutes. I want to get it down to 20 even.

Today, as I did yesterday, I ran the track. This time however, I averaged 6 miles an hour, arriving at track end at 39:59 or shortly thereafter. I was pleased that I had shaken an extra mile an hour today.

I ate nothing today as of 16:00 hours. I only had approx. 7 ounces of water around 15: 30 hours.

I designated a hilly 4 mile stretch of a back country road as my track. I have used this in the past as a trail for when I am hiking with weights, horseback riding, or motorcycling.

Today, I left and set my chronograph. I averaged 5 miles an hour, arriving at the end shortly before 48 minutes had elapsed.

I ate very little. I had only an energy drink in the afternoon, until 20:00 hours. After which time I consumed a moderate amount of food.
